Christmas this year was a great one mainly because it felt more family oriented. Since my brother, his wife, and kids came home for Christmas, my parents were excited and you could tell. I woke up early Christmas morning to help my mom and dad prepare breakfast and then we went upstairs to open presents. Of course the kids received the most presents out of the bunch while us adults gave and received smaller gifts. It's always fun to see the adults open presents because unlike younger kids, you can see how much they appreciate the gesture. My parents bought me a new camera lens, like last year, and instantly I started to weep! My dad rushed out of the room to find batteries for my son's keyboard but my mom sat there and teared up with me. I'm such a big baby when it comes to my parents helping me with things. They knew I wanted this lens, needed it for my collection since I was working a wedding two days after, but couldn't save up for it since all of my funds went towards groceries, etc. (Being an adult is NOT fun). They went out of their way to find it and surprised me with it. My husband also received one of the pieces of equipment he wanted to start his YouTube gaming channel. He doesn't like surprised and instantly felt embarrassed, aha! After that we headed to his family's place. I got some pretty cute stuff, including a harry potter mug that I will be showing off later on (I said, "shut the fuck up!" when I opened it!). My sister-in-law finally gave her parents their presents that she had done the months before. On the day of her wedding, she had the photographer take photos of her holding letters up spelling out "mom" and "dad" and had each one framed. A simple yet perfect gift. Since out families did not want us to see a movie that day, we decided to hold off and see a movie the next day. We went to see Into The Woods and let me just say, I did not know the musical or anything about it before going to see it. I felt the tears coming out several times during it. The music was great, the actors were great, and the story is so beautiful! Meryl Streep is the bomb guys!
I hope ya'll enjoyed your holidays as much as I did. Now on to the new year! ;)
