Anthro Inspiration (and that Super Bowl finish)

Regardless of what team you root for, the Super Bowl was awesome.  Katy Perry's halftime show, with Kravitz and Missy was dazzling (giant tiger ya'll, and dancing sharks...).  I felt myself holding my breath at the last 2 minutes of the game and when that game changing interception happened, the entire house exploded with our chant, "aaaaaAAAHHHH swim brah, wooooshhh!" and screaming at the top of our lungs.  The New England Patriots won the Super Bowl!  I grew up watching the Patriots (my dad is from New Hampshire so they are our family football team) and my husband's dad likes the patriots also, so last night's win was a proud moment for us as a family.  If they lost, I'm sure there would have been tears (we had also consumed some alcohol so the game was an emotional one just for that fact alone, ahah). So the start to a lovely month was an exciting one.  What's more exciting is Dunkin Donut's new white chocolate raspberry latte.  It's delicious and the smell, my gosh, is perfect alone.

Anyways, I've come up with some lovely finds from Anthropologie for this month's wish list.  :)

I absolutely love pretty things.  I can not wait to have an office space of my own one day so I can decorate it the way that I want to.  Those shadowbox frames are beautiful and the chandelier looks like it would give any room a whimsical feel to it.

Which piece if your favorite?

Wanting to visit: Cherry Blossom Festival- Washington D.C.
I have always wanted to attend this festival.  With my passion for photography and love for Asian culture, it is very much interesting for me to experience these types of things.  Who wouldn't want to walk among cherry blossom trees at their peak bloom?  Washington D.C is a fun trip to take if you're a history buff like me but add one some Asian fusion, and you have yourself a good time!  This festival is on my bucket list for sure.  You can view more information here: http://www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org/

Watching now/Anticipating: The Walking Dead, duh.  We are also anticipating the season 2 premiere of Helix this Friday! Face-Off has started again and this season looks awesome!  Movies?  I'm excited for Insurgent and really want to see The Theory of Everything.  The husband and I are both excited to see The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Jurassic World.  && we are currently waiting for the news about The Last: Naruto the Movie, which is having special screenings across the US in limited theaters.  It's going to be in Japanese with English subtitles!  We are so pumped since we've been watching it for years.  Naruto is our couple thing.  If we don't get to see it, we'll be devastated!

Reading:  I am reading Insurgent, to get ready for the movie in March!  I'm halfway through and I just have to say, I love this series.

Playing/Anticpating:  Since finishing Dragon Age: Inquisition, I've been feeling blah.  I'm trying to play Dragon Age Origins but I just can't seem to get through it since I'm playing on the computer. I'm more of a console gamer for.  I started playing Kingdom Hearts: HD 2.5 Remix and am working on Birth by Sleep since it's one of the games I did not play.  We are anticipating more news about 3!  We are also waiting on The Order 1186.  This game I was excited for when we saw it during E3.  And of course, we all know Mass Effect 4 is in the works.  I am dying over here.  Mass Effect is one of my favorite game series (I cried all day after I finished ME3, I mean, sobbing) and can't wait to see what's next...even though, you know...EA sucks.

Celebrating:  So the tiny human is almost potty trained!  We're nervous about taking him out when he's not wearing his diapers but we've taken him out on short drives and he hasn't peed in his tiny human briefs just yet!  Yay!  His attitude...that's a different story.

What are ya'll doing currently?

(So Late) New Years & a Quick Cookie Recipe

We had our first holiday celebration in our home!  Unfortunately, we were alone since family had their own stuff going on.  It was a simple yet comforting way to ring in the new year.  Earlier in the day, I was rushing to clean the place up because it's bad luck to bring in the new year with a dirty home.  Truth.  I packed all of our Christmas things in a box and strangely I was excited to be doing so.  We now have our official first Christmas box!  Small first home accomplishments, aha!  I made some burgers for dinner and even enjoyed myself a turkey burger with the tiny human (sooo good!).  I even made some confetti french vanilla cookies for dessert (recipe will be in the next post).  I hope you all enjoyed celebrating with family and friends.

Christmas 2014

Christmas this year was a great one mainly because it felt more family oriented.  Since my brother, his wife, and kids came home for Christmas, my parents were excited and you could tell.  I woke up early Christmas morning to help my mom and dad prepare breakfast and then we went upstairs to open presents.  Of course the kids received the most presents out of the bunch while us adults gave and received smaller gifts.  It's always fun to see the adults open presents because unlike younger kids, you can see how much they appreciate the gesture.  My parents bought me a new camera lens, like last year, and instantly I started to weep!  My dad rushed out of the room to find batteries for my son's keyboard but my mom sat there and teared up with me.  I'm such a big baby when it comes to my parents helping me with things.  They knew I wanted this lens, needed it for my collection since I was working a wedding two days after, but couldn't save up for it since all of my funds went towards groceries, etc.  (Being an adult is NOT fun).  They went out of their way to find it and surprised me with it.  My husband also received one of the pieces of equipment he wanted to start his YouTube gaming channel.  He doesn't like surprised and instantly felt embarrassed, aha!  After that we headed to his family's place.  I got some pretty cute stuff, including a harry potter mug that I will be showing off later on (I said, "shut the fuck up!" when I opened it!).  My sister-in-law finally gave her parents their presents that she had done the months before.  On the day of her wedding, she had the photographer take photos of her holding letters up spelling out "mom" and "dad" and had each one framed.  A simple yet perfect gift.  Since out families did not want us to see a movie that day, we decided to hold off and see a movie the next day.  We went to see Into The Woods and let me just say, I did not know the musical or anything about it before going to see it.  I felt the tears coming out several times during it.  The music was great, the actors were great, and the story is so beautiful!  Meryl Streep is the bomb guys!

I hope ya'll enjoyed your holidays as much as I did.  Now on to the new year! ;)

A December Recap

Instead of doing a year recap, I'm going to hold off doing that until the very end.  Instead I'd like to photo-dump for a recap of December, my favorite month of the year!

My Birthday!
My birthday was amazing.  My husband actually surprised me this year.  He is notorious for waiting last minute to do things but this year he planned ahead and had things together the week before.  This ice cream cake from Coldstone was amazeballs!  We went to the theaters and saw Exodus and enjoyed family time with both of our families.

Holiday Treats
I'm not sure of how much I've gained since the beginning of this month just from coffee and donuts alone.  I know, I'm bad.

Our Home's First Christmas
Since this year is a our first year in our own place, we felt the need to decorate it up even though we'd be visiting family.  I re-decorated our wreath, dressed up some plain stockings, and we bought our first tree and star!  I even have leftover wrapping paper and bows for next year, aha!

Not to mention, I baked a lot, tried new recipes, and threw aside my strict workout/meal plan just to enjoy myself and the holidays this month.  It's still not over!

Hello all!  I've been so behind on blogging.  I have had sessions to edit, promoting, and trying to land last minute jobs before the year is up!  Talk about stress.  The rest of the week should be good because...my birthday is tomorrow! I'll be turning the big 23!  I think every birthday is big because you only turn that age once.  Here is a quick "currently" for you!  Hope to have some solid posts up in the next few days.

Listening:  A Very She & Him Christmas  I love Zooey Deschanel but really her music is awesome all by itself.  The tunes are very mellow and fun and her vocals are nostalgic.  Listen to it!

Watching:  I'm trying to finish up Sleepy Hollow.  My husband and I are currently watching a few new anime, Parasyte and Noragami.  Both are awesome!

Playing:  Dragon Age Inquisition!  All of free time is poured into that game.  I think I'm about 20 hours in?  Me being a completionist is not a good thing because there is a lot to do and I burn myself out during each sitting because I try to get so much done.

Wanting:  More Christmas spirit?  I don't know.  Maybe it's because I'm trying to work harder to land jobs but I'm just not feeling the Christmas spirit.  It makes me incredibly sad.

Deciding:  What movie to see on Christmas!  My husband and I have started a little Christmas tradition where we see a movie Christmas day.  The first time, we went to see War Horse and then the Christmas after that, Les Miserable.  Last Christmas we did not go see a movie since it was sort of a sad time for us.  This year we're deciding between Unbroken or Into the Woods.

Why Hello There, Dear December.

December is here.  It is my favorite month.  Not only is it the holiday season, my birthday is next Thursday!  I'll be turning...23!

Last night we "finished" our Christmas tree.  I say "finished" because after putting the ornaments up, I realized I needed more.  We still have to buy our star (it is definitely a family choice, so my husband needs to help pick it out) and my son and I are going to make a few more home-made ornaments to fill it out some more!  Also today, I enjoyed a wonderfully delightful red velvet cake doughnut and peppermint mocha from Krispy Kreme :)  I told ya, I'm a holiday treat fiend.

What is your favorite holiday treat?

Giving thanks today.

Happy thanksgiving everyone.  I hope you all had a wonderful day full of family, friends, and amazing food.  We can all be thankful for something today whether it be for the people in your life, your success, your failures, anything.  Today, in its modern boots, is a day to reflect and to be know that no matter what, there is always SOMETHING to be grateful for and to remember to appreciate all you have.

Today, I made a simple chocolate pie with pudding filling and a ready-made graham cracker crust.  I melted some dark chocolate and made the pie pretty since it wasn't exactly home-made.  Sharing thanksgiving between two families, mine and my husband's, is so difficult in its own way.  I feel so inclined to eat plates at both places just because they made so much food.  I am literally stuffed.  I hope you guys continue on enjoying your thanksgiving!
